A Zebra leadership conversation: 28 April 2021 16:00 – 17:00

“What is now proved was once only imagined.” William Blake

The challenges of the past 12 months have starkly revealed the strengths and weaknesses of our economy and society. It may seem that short-term survival has taken precedence over long-term people, purpose and planet-driven strategies. Yet isn’t this the time to Build Back Better?

To take stock of these leadership challenges, we are holding Zebra’s first virtual campfire event – Bravery, Imagination and Humility: A Leadership Conversation on 28 April.

As we know from our Zebra cohort and clients, many businesses have displayed incredible ingenuity and imagination during the pandemic, embracing new ways of working, communicating and engaging with all stakeholders.

With remote working, a mass migration online has accelerated a cataclysmic shift in the future world of work. Business infrastructure resilience has been tested to the limit, while technology has rapidly become integral to many more lives.

Can the pivot be permanent?

The ubiquitous phrase ‘Building Back Better’ reflects the collective desire to seize this initiative and shape the future. How can business leaders best catch and ride this wave of change and innovation?

A crucial review

For Bravery, Imagination and Humility: A Leadership Conversation, we have gathered key contributors from the Zebra cohort that we know will offer insight and guidance on how to best respond to this moment of both fragility and enormous opportunity.

As we discuss and reimagine a better future and better businesses, we will address questions such as:

  • Do we need new kinds of leadership and thinking to seize this moment and innovate better, faster and equitably?

  • Can we maintain purpose-led ambition and a focus on lasting stakeholder value, when it seems short-term survival is dominating?

  • How has the pandemic altered our understanding of well-being, inclusivity and vulnerability, at work and across society?

  • How can the Zebra Project energise the businesses that can really shape a brighter and more resilient future? What might be our shared goals?
